TLDR

OVERVIEW

To & Fro is a mobile travel app that helps groups plan trips together. Groups can vote on destinations, build shared itineraries, and make decisions without the chaos.

ROLE

UX Design Intern

UX Design Intern

I owned the design of the core trip planning experience, from the moment a group decides to travel to the day they leave. I also built the shared component library that the other interns' workflows were built on.

IMPACT

Built a design system adopted across all four intern workflows.

Unified 4 designers' competing directions into one cohesive flow.

Co-founders validated the core flow as intuitive and aligned with the product vision.

Group travel planning is messy. One person ends up doing everything while everyone else just reacts, and ideas get scattered across Instagram saves, Google Docs, and group chats that no one can find later.

How might we make trip setup simple and collaborative so groups can plan together from start to finish?

WHAT I DID

Designed the core trip dashboard so every member can see what's happening, what needs a decision, and who's doing what.

Built a setup flow that gets the group into one shared space before any details are locked in.

Built the shared component library at the core of the system.

WHAT I LEARNED

Constraints sharpen the work.

The co-founders set the scope early. Instead of pushing back on decisions that were already made, I focused on execution. But I still spoke up when there were risks in the scope.

A shared foundation brings consistency.

Four designers building at the same time with no shared components caused inconsistency in our designs. So I built a component library and that made 4 people's work feel like one product.

Due to NDA, I'm unable to share full designs publicly. But, if you would like to see my To & Fro work in detail, feel free to reach out to me directly!
